Support Our Virtual Food Drive and Make a Difference!

As the holiday season approaches, the staff at Hawthorne Seniors Care Community is coming together once again to support our local community. This year, were excited to launch our Virtual Food Drive in support of SHARE Food Bank, aimed at ensuring access to healthy, fresh food for residents of Port Coquitlam and the Tri-Cities. In addition to collecting non-perishable food items on-site at Hawthorne, we are encouraging online donations to make an even greater impact.

Why Your Help Matters:
The 2024 Hunger Count Report from Food Banks Canada reveals some alarming statistics:

  • 81% increase in food bank visits in BC since 2019.
  • 10% increase in the number of seniors using food banks over the past two years.
  • 1 in 3 food bank clients are children, who are disproportionately represented compared to the general population.

By donating, you help ensure that fresh, nutritious food reaches those who need it most.

How You Can Help: Its easy! Simply click the green Donate button above to contribute to our campaign. Online donations are tax-deductible. After your donation is processed, youll receive an automatic tax receipt via email. Please check your inbox (and spam folder, just in case).

Thank you for supporting Hawthorne's Holiday Food Drive and for helping to ensure that our community has access to fresh, healthy food this holiday season and beyond.
