This year, Food Banks BC has introduced a virtual food drive, and we’re excited to participate alongside the RCMP’s annual Cram the Cruiser campaign. Traditionally, the RCMP parks a cruiser in front of a grocery store, and with the community’s help, they literally cram the cruiser with food donations. Last year, they expanded this initiative to Salt Spring Elementary School, and this year, they’re bringing it to all three elementary schools!
While the fun of cramming the cruiser is irreplaceable, cash donations are also incredibly impactful. Your monetary contributions give the food bank better buying power, allowing us to purchase exactly what’s needed. It also saves time and effort required to sort through physical donations, ensuring resources reach those in need faster and more efficiently.
